Shahnawaz Bhutto’s death anniversary observed
LARKANA: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and its Shaheed Bhutto (SB) faction separately observed the 32nd death anniversary of Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto, the younger son of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on Tuesday.
The PPP and PPP-SB held separate gatherings at the Naudero House and Al Murtaza House, respectively.
District-level PPP leaders, including its president Abdul Fatah Bhutto, general secretary Khair Mohammed Shaikh, Nooruddin Abro, Aijaz Leghari, district council chairman Khan Mohammed Sangro, Dr Sakina Gaad and others gathered at Naudero House.
They held Quran Khwani and distributed food among people after offering Fateha. They also went to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto and laid wreaths on the grave of the younger Bhutto and offered dua.
The PPP-SB held a meeting at Al Murtaza House to mark the day. Leaders and workers of the PPP-SB also laid wreaths on the grave of Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto and offered Fateha.
Addressing the gathering, Inayat Umrani, Ali Hassan Hasni, Mohammed Yusuf Bhatti and others paid tributes to the leadership qualities of Mir Shahnawaz, who was poisoned in France.
They said Shahnawaz Bhutto fearlessly fought against Gen Ziaul Haq, who, according to them, was the agent of Israel and the US. He struggled against Zia’s “anti-Islam, anti-people and anti-state” policies, they said, describing it as the reason behind his poisoning. He was physically eliminated, but was philosophically with the people, they said.
The PPP-SB Naudero chapter also held Quran Khwani in its office. Ghulam Haider Narejo, former district president of the PPP-SB Larkana, Waryam Channa and others participated and offered Fateha for the soul of Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto.
