Shujaat calls for justice in Multan case

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Husain calls for severe punishment for those involved in the assault of a teenage girl on the orders of a village jury in Multan.

“I condemn this brutal incident in strongest possible words,” Shujaat said in a statement here on Thursday.

He said the rulers were busy in their efforts to “save their kingdom”. “The rulers have no interest in addressing the issues of the oppressed. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as usual is satisfied after taking a notice of this incident. Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah should also take suo motu notice and send the case to the Anti-Terrorism Court which should give exemplary punishment to the panchayat in seven days,” he said.

He said the victim’s family should be given justice at the earliest.
