Five of a family drown in Haro river

TAXILA: Five of a family including a man and his three sons drowned in river Haro while picnicking near village Saalar in Attock Saddar police area on Monday.

The family came from Islamabad to visit their relatives in Attock and they went to river Haro on picnic.

While taking selfie, three people fall in river and were drowning.

Those who were present on the bank, jumped into the water to save them but also drowned.

Those who drowned were identified as Aslam Masih, 50, Sunni Aslam, 21, Sultan Aslam, 16, Vikram Chand and Suneil Masih 23.

Later, Rescue 1122 retrieved the bodies and shifted them to district headquarters hospital.

In a similar incident, two sisters drowned while laundering in local stream Dotal in Dhoke Wallian near Pind Sultani area.

Police sources said that Naila Bibi along with her elder sister Asmana Bibi went to local a nullah to wash clothes. While washing Naila Bibi slipped and fell into deep waters.

Her elder sister - Asmna Bibi, mother of four, while trying to rescue her also lost balance and drowned.

Later, local divers fished out their bodies from the nullah.
