Notice to police on Ayesha Ahad’s plea

LAHORE: A sessions court on Tuesday issued a notice to police on a petition filed by Ayesha Ahad, who claimed to be wife of MNA Hamza Shahbaz, accusing Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah of extending threats to her and causing harassment.

Advocate Ali Zia Bajwa argued before the court that his client, Ms Malik, was being harassed at the behest of the law minister.

He said police personnel in uniform and civvies had also been found deployed near the house of the petitioner.

The lawyer alleged that his client had been chased by unidentified persons whenever she went out of her house.

He said the petitioner started receiving threats since Ms Malik served a legal notice on the law minister for uttering derogatory remarks against her.

The counsel asked the court to restrain the law minister from harassing the petitioner and also order the police to provide his client with adequate security.

The additional district and sessions judge issued notice to police for next week.
