BISE Peshawar accused of changing exam results
PESHAWAR: Management of a private educational institution has accused the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar, of awarding extra marks to the students securing low marks in the higher secondary school certificate examination results 2017, while ignoring those obtaining high marks.
Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Friday, Principal of Usmania Children Academy Peshawar, Maulana Hussain Ahmad pointed out that two students of the school securing high marks were not mentioned in the gazette and those obtaining low marks were declared position holders.
He said a student, Hafiza Mehreen Malik of Jinnah College for Women, University of Peshawar, who got 909 marks in the humanities group, had been declared third position holder in violation of merit.
He claimed his school students, Rafiullah Khan and Mohammad Anas, who secured 914 and 912 marks, respectively in the humanities group, were ignored in the merit list due to incompetency of the board chairman, controller of examinations and other officials concerned.
He also recalled that injustice was done with a student of his academy in SSC examination results in 2015, saying a student had got 924 marks, but he was not mentioned in the gazette. But, he said a student of arts group, Nimra Bibi of government high school, Bashirabad, was declared as third position holder despite securing only 917 marks.
He said the then chairman and controller of examinations had admitted the mistake and apologised to the management of the institute.
Flanked by the affected students, Mr Ahmad of Usmania Children Academy said he had shared details about position of both the students with the BISE chairman and had also sent copies to the chief minister, secretaries, elementary and secondary education, higher education, and the governor. But, he said despite the passage of three days the board had failed to respond.
He demanded of the chief minister and minister for education to order an inquiry into the matter.
