Missing girl recovered from Sahiwal
TOBA TEK SINGH: Pirmahal police on Friday recovered from Sahiwal the girl who had gone missing last year from Chak 670/11-GB.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) had ordered the Toba police to recover the girl and produce her before it on Sept 6.
A police official said 17-year-old Sajjal Bibi, daughter of Zafar Iqbal of Chak 670/11-GB, went missing and a kidnap case was registered against one Umer Draz of Chak Naubahar Shah (Aroutti) on Nov 27, 2016. The suspect was arrested but the girl could not be recovered from his custody.
Zafar Iqbal had filed a petition before the LHC, pleading it to order the Toba police to recover his daughter. On the orders of the court, District Police Officer Usman Akram Gondal formed seven investigation teams to recover the girl.
A team raided a place at Kassowal, Sahiwal, and recovered the girl.
A police official said the youth from whose custody the girl had been recovered had produced a marriage certificate before the police, claiming that they had contracted a marriage.
