Muqam launches Rs1.4 billion gas supply project in Swabi
SWABI: Adviser to the prime minister and PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam on Friday inaugurated Rs1.40 billion gas supply project in NA-13, Swabi-II constituency with a view to win the support of the people in the next general elections.
“All the remaining areas of the district will get gas supply soon,” he said while speaking to a public meeting in Kunda Mor. “We are committed to playing an effective role for uplift of the district. We will stand by the people through thick and thin,” he promised.
Also present on the occasion were PML-N central leader Liaquat Ahmad Khan, MPA Shiraz Khan, district president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, central and provincial leaders of the party and officials of SNGPL.
Mr Muqam said SNGPL worked under the federal government and the claims of PTI leaders about the provision of gas to the area were meant to deceive the people. He said the PML-N had never made empty pledges and the gas project inauguration was a solid proof that it had delivered.
He remarked that PTI chairman Imran Khan should acknowledge that his party was unable to run KP affairs. The PTI leadership had got a golden opportunity to honour pubic mandate but the people had judged their performance and were now started saying that the PTI leaders had made only promises and failed to deliver, he explained.
The PML-N leader said Imran Khan would be unable to become prime minister through the backdoor because the masses believed in practical works. He alleged that the PTI government had also failed to curb the spread of dengue virus in the province.
Mr Muqam said the provincial health department did not take preemptive measures for protection of the people from the deadly virus. It was duty of the government to carry out spray to eliminate breeding grounds of the mosquito carrying the deadly dengue virus,” he said. He said the Punjab government had provided complete help to the PTI government in tackling dengue.
Meanwhile, Liaqat Ahmad Khan, PML-N central leader, told media that the prime minister would visit the district after Eidul Azha to announce an impressive package for Swabi.
