Suu Kyi & Rohingyas

AUNG San Suu Kyi is a symbol of peace and courage. She struggled for the restoration of democracy in Myanmar for more than a decade and remained house-arrest for 15 years. She won the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts.

I was inspired by her efforts before the brutal killings of the innocent Rohingya Muslims. But now after her silence on the blood-curdling incidents in Myanmar, I have changed my opinion about her.

Meanwhile, I would also like to ask why the Islamic military alliance is keeping mum on such a serious matter. This alliance does not serve its purpose by keeping silent on barbarism in Myanmar.

This is not just an issue of Muslims, but is more about humanity. We should take a stand wherever there is such a massacre irrespective of any caste, colour, creed and nationality.
