Musharraf, Putin discuss relations

MOSCOW, Aug 20: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday discussed Moscow’s burgeoning relations with Islamabad in telephone talks with President Pervez Musharraf, Kremlin officials said.

The two leaders discussed “the practical results of Russian-Pakistani cooperation achieved since the Pakistani president visited Russia six months ago,” the presidential press service told the Interfax news agency.

They also exchanged views on Russia’s recently announced proposal to join the Organization of the Islamic Conference.—AFP
