Godzilla vs. Kong coming soon!

Monster movie crossover Godzilla vs. Kong is set to be directed by filmmaker Adam Wingard.

Godzilla vs. Kong will be the fourth entry in Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment’s planned monster universe that began with 2014’s Godzilla and continued this year with Kong: Skull Island, which grossed $565 million worldwide.

A sequel to Godzilla titled Godzilla: King of Monsters, is set to release in 2018; while Godzilla vs. Kong will then follow on May 22, 2020.

DreamWorks theatre in California

Universal Studios Hollywood says DreamWorks Theatre is set to open at the California theme park in 2018.

“This new technologically advanced attraction will take guests on a legendary journey that fuses captivating storytelling with state-of-the art projection mapping and LED lighting effects for a highly engaging and immersive, unstoppable-awesome experience,” a press release said.

The attraction — which will rotate its themes over time — will start by spotlighting the world and characters featured in the Kung Fu Panda films and television series.

More actors dressed as characters from classic DreamWorks animated movies will interact with park guests and walking the grounds will be Kung Fu Panda’s Po and Tigress; Madagascar’s Alex the Lion, the Penguins — Skipper, Rico, Kowalski and Private, and King Julian; Trolls’ Poppy and Branch; and Shrek’s Puss ‘n Boots.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne have joined the cast of upcoming Marvel sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Pfeiffer will be featured in the film as Janet Van Dyne, the mother of series star Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne and the wife of the original Ant-Man Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas.

Pfeiffer’s character was mourned by Douglas who believed she was dead in 2015’s Ant-Man. Janet was the original Wasp, a superhero whose name will be taken up by Hope who will team up with Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man in the sequel.

Fishburne, meanwhile, has been cast as Bill Foster, a character featured in Marvel comics who worked alongside Hank Pym before also becoming a shape-changing superhero known as Black Goliath. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to arrive in theatres on July 6, 2018.

Star Wars: Episode IX

Disney and Lucasfilm’s ninth entry in their Star Wars series, tentatively titled Star Wars: Episode IX, has been pushed back to December 20, 2019. It was originally slated to release on May 24, 2019.
