Traditional wedding reception for Chinese couple in Battagram district

A newly married Chinese couple, who are part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project workforce, celebrated their wedding in a traditional Pakistani ceremony held at Koza Banda area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's (KP) Battagram district, DawnNews reported on Monday.

The couple, Sain and Lin, had earlier flown to China to solemnise their marriage under Chinese customs, given the lack of such facilities in Pakistan at the moment.

They had returned on Monday and thrown a traditional reception for their Pakistani friends in Koza Banda.

Lin graced the reception in a traditional red wedding dress and bridal jewellery. She had also applied henna on her hands. The groom, Sain, wore a white sherwani complete with a qula.

Talking to DawnNews, Sain thanked his colleagues and friends for making their wedding so memorable. He said that it was his friends in Koza Banda who had suggested that they should have a Pakhtun-styled wedding ceremony, and had also helped the couple in arranging the reception.
