Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 185 runs to claim Under-19 Asia Cup

Afghanistan recorded a historic cricket victory as the team clinched the Under-19 Asia Cup for the first time, reported International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday.

Afghanistan pulled off a 185-run victory against Pakistan at the Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur. The team posted 248 for 7. In response, Pakistan was bundled for just 63 in 22.1 overs.

Earlier on Friday, Afghanistan had overwhelmed Nepal by seven wickets in the semi-final of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup.

On Sunday, the early fall of wickets triggered panic among green shirts and the Afghanistan bowlers took full advantage of the situation. Due to the pressure, nine Pakistan batsmen failed to reach double-figures.

Afghanistan had got off to a good start, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (40) and Ibrahim Zadran (36) putting on a 61-run partnership off 108 balls for the opening wicket.

Afghanistan had more than enough on the board to get the better of Pakistan in its first entry into the final. They had crashed out at the semi-final stage in the previous three editions.
