Glitter cappuccinos are here!

Behold the glitter cappuccino! It’s exactly what it sounds like: a cappuccino mixed with edible glitter. The glitter cappuccino is the creation of Coffee By Di Bella, a chain of coffee shops in Mumbai, (India) and while it’s not necessarily an original concept (we’re pretty sure people have been throwing edible glitter in their coffee for quite some time, it’s getting loads of attention online.

There’s also a cafe in the UK serving up sparkly coffee — Melbourne in Lichfield sells sparkly gold espresso.

Now, to be clear, the glitter used in these drinks is not the stuff you’ve got wasting away in your craft bin. This is all edible glitter, so it’s safe to consume (although we wouldn’t recommend downing large amounts of it). It doesn’t add any flavour to the coffee, though — only the irritation of glitter stuck to your lips after you sip down your morning coffee.

Glitter coffee feels like the mad creation of a toddler with an arts and crafts project, or a well-meaning child trying to make mummy a special breakfast. But we advice you not to follow the trend!

Smell like fried chicken

Do you like baths? Do you like KFC? If so, you might like KFC’s new fried chicken bath bomb. The fast food giant has launched limited edition bath bombs, which smell like its secret spice mix.

Unlike conventional fizzy bath products, KFC’s is shaped like a chicken drumstick. So if you want to smell like a boneless banquet, jump in the tub.

Novelty retailer Village Vanguard has worked with KFC to manufacture the oddity. Apparently, it really does smell like KFC’s famous recipe, a homage to the delicacy.

The company has launched the quirky bath bomb in Japan as a limited edition. Just 100 lucky winners will get to enjoy it. Still, it’s quite interesting.

Holiday resort for the obese

There’s a holiday resort that is specifically built for obese people. The venue in Eleuthera, Bahamas, has wider doorways, sturdier chairs and reinforced beds.

And the buffet is always topped up with the tastiest foods whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. ‘The Resort’ is the brainchild of James King, who came up with the idea in 2003 after he saw an obese person fall through a beach chair and then had to pay $150 (£114) to replace it.

“It’s a place where you can come and have a good holiday without any judgement whatsoever,” he told.

The venue, which has a private beach and opened in 2005, is featured in a new ITV programme called The 18-30 Stone Holiday. The premise of the show is eight people take a vacation at the resort to confront issues they have with being overweight.

Prehistoric shark caught

An incredibly rare shark, said to be from the age of dinosaurs, has been caught off the coast of one of Britons’ favourite holiday spots.

The frilled shark — described as a ‘living fossil’ because the species dates back to prehistoric times — stunned scientists when it was hauled onto a commercial trawler.

The snake-like fish has rows of hundreds of razor-sharp teeth and is rarely seen by humans. Researchers say the species dates back 80 million years — one of few creatures to still exist from that era — and is believed to have inspired sailors’ tales of sea serpents.

The male fish was hauled on board a research vessel off Portugal’s Algarve coast in August.

Portugal’s Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere said the five-foot long fish was caught at a depth of 2,300ft off Portimao. It said the species resides throughout the Atlantic, including Scottish waters, but it is rarely captured because it lives at such great depths. It has also been found in the Pacific.

Researchers hope the discovery will shed more light on the species, as very little is known about it. The shark gets its name from the frilled arrangement of its 300 teeth.
