Four die on road in Haripur, Lakki

HARIPUR/ LAKKI MARWAT: Four people, including a woman, were killed and eight others injured in road accidents in Haripur and Lakki Marwat on Saturday.

In Haripur, Mohammad Nadeem of Abbottabad was killed when his car collided with another car near Serai-i-Gadai here. Four other people were injured in the incident and they were identified as Imtiaz Shah, Masi Ullah Shah, Abdul Hadi and Mashariq Ejaz. They were taken to the DHQ hospital where doctors referred them to the Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad.

In another such incident in Haripur, a man was killed and his father injured when a dumper truck hit their motorcycle. The victim was identified as Abdullah, 18. His father Qari Abdul Hafeez was injured critically.

In Lakki Marwat, a woman and her infant were killed when a truck hit an auto-rickshaw near Kurram Bridge on the Indus Highway. Three other people were wounded in the accident.

The bodies and injured were taken to a hospital in Naurang town. The deceased woman and her baby belonged to Landiwah locality.

Separately, police said that a man was killed in a shooting incident in Tor Lawangkhel village. They said that one Sultan Jan and his son Faheem Khan were going to fields when their rival Ismail Khan allegedly ambushed them.

They said that Faheem died on the spot while his father escaped unhurt. Police have registered the case.
