Eid Milad celebrated with religious fervour in KP, Fata
HARIPUR: Eid Miladun Nabi was celebrated with religious fervour in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas amid tight security on Friday.
In Haripur, different processions and gatherings were arranged to celebrate the annual religious event of birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in the city, Khalabat Township, Khanpur and Ghazi area. Hundreds of people, including children, participated in these religious gatherings.
In Swabi, a big programme was held in Ghausia Mosque of the Tarbela Dam residential colonies. The procession started from the mosque and passed through roads of the colonies.
People asked to follow teachings of Holy Prophet
People, including employees of Tarbela Dam and Ghazi Barotha, participated in the procession. The speakers appealed to the participants to uphold the teachings of the holy Prophet and mould their lives according to the teachings of Islam.
In Buner, a function was held at Pir Baba Jamia Masjid to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi. The gathering was facilitated by Syed Hussain Shah, the Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar Hazrat Pir Baba. People from Buner and other parts of the province participated in the function.
DPO Irshad Khan was also present on the occasion and supervised the security arrangements.
In Ghalanai, the local authorities and security forces had made strict security arrangements for the participants of the Eid Miladun Nabi conference in view of the growing incidents of terrorism.
The Seerat conference was arranged in the Jirga Hall jointly by the culture department and political administration of Mohmand Agency. Additional political agent Hamidur Rehman, Mufti Tahir Ullah, Maulana Arif of JUI-F, Maulana Aminul Haq and other spoke on occasion. On this occasion, local madressah students presented Naat, Qiraat and speeches on the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The people also decorated mosques, government and private buildings, markets and streets on this occasion.
In Lakki city, Hafiz Akmal Sultan led the procession taken out from Mohallah Bamozai. Head of Marwat Qaumi Jirga Mohammad Aslam, Lakki tehsil nazim Hidayatullah, Anjuman Ghulamaan-i-Mustafa president Abdul Rashid and local people participated in it.
The procession after passing through its routes reached Milad Park amid tight security. A group of Naat Khawns accompanied the procession and recited Naats. The procession’s routes were decorated with banners and illuminations. The Eid Miladun Nabi processions were also taken out in Darra Pezu and Naurang towns of the district.
Prominent religious scholars urged the people to mould their lives according to the teachings of the holy Prophet and promote peace and harmony in the society. Such functions were also held in other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata.
