Fazl a hurdle to complete revival of MMA: JUI-S

KOHAT: Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Maulana Samiul Haq has said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was a big hurdle to complete revival of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal as he had turned down his condition of leaving the government for the purpose.

He alleged that the JUI-F chief had supported the PML-N government in changing the Khatm-i-Nabuwwat clause as he was so intoxicated by sharing power with every ruler. However, he said that the only way of bringing real Islamic system in the country was unity among all the religious parties.

Samiul Haq categorically said that he was a supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government because PTI chairman Imran Khan was a true Muslim and enforcing his manifesto of bringing a real change in the country of which Shariah was the foremost priority.

Addressing a public meeting at Zero Point in Jarma here, he also said that MMA had failed due to the ulema with vested interest. Former MNA Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz announced joining of JUI-S on this occasion.

Samiul Haq alleged that the JUI-F chief had also helped and sided with PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in freeing US spy Raymond Davis who had killed two innocent people.

He also criticised former prime minister Nawaz Sharif who according to him had been reaping what he had sowed through including articles 62 and 63 in the Constitution.

He alleged that Nawaz Sharif now wanted to remove the Shariah-related clauses from the Constitution at the behest of US.

PROJECTS LAUNCHED: MPA Ziaullah Bangash performed the groundbreaking of repair of a canal and renovation of main bazaar with a cost of Rs60 million here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he asked the public representatives to keep a watch on the development projects to ensure their timely completion.

Meanwhile, a man allegedly involved in murder of two friends confessed to have killed them for honour.

The police said on Wednesday that according to the statement of accused Gul Hassan of Tola Bangikhel area he was also accompanied by two accomplices who were still at large. He alleged that the victims would tease their women.

The police have registered an FIR on the complaint of Zareen Khan, brother of one of the victims.
