Indian BSF shells Sialkot border villages
SIALKOT: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to mortar shelling on border villages in Shakargarh sector of the Working Boundary on Wednesday evening.
According to local senior officials of Punjab Rangers, the BSF used heavy mortar shells on Sakho Chak, Sukmaal,Tambar Chak and surrounding villages along the Working Boundary, targeting civilian population during the thick foggy weather.
This marks the first Indian shelling and ceasefire violation of the new year that continued for over an hour.
Several houses were reportedly damaged, however no casualties were reported.
The forces responded instantly and effectively in a befitting manner, said senior officials of the Punjab Rangers.
