Pipeline near Sibi stops gas supply

QUETTA, May 6: Gas supply to many villages of Sibi was disrupted when saboteurs blew up a pipeline in the Sibi township on Friday night. “Unknown people planted a bomb under the pipeline which exploded,” a police officer told this correspondent.

Soon after the explosion the Sui Southern Gas Company cut off gas supply from the affected pipeline.

Repair of the affected pipeline would be started on Saturday, SSGC officials said.

Meanwhile, another explosion was also reported in Sibi town late night Which occurred under a tower of the high power transmission line in Sibi bypass area. However, power supply was not affected due to the blast as tower was slightly damaged, a police official said Another report said personnel of FC and unknown-armed men exchanged fire in Much area of Bolan district late night. Firing continued for 45 minutes as both sides used heavy weapons. With the arrival of more FC troops the armed men Disappeared.
