Two held in sessions court shooting

LAHORE: A team of investigation police have reportedly arrested two prime accused who had allegedly shot dead a police constable and a suspected murderer in a brazen armed attack at the Sessions Court some 10 days back.

The arrests came from Gujranwala where both the accused, Bhatta Gujjar and Tauqir, had taken refuge.

A police source said the Lahore’s investigation police officers had got information about the presence of the accused in Gujranwala.

They alerted the Gujranwala police’s high command which conducted a raid in the jurisdiction of Baghbanpura police and made the arrests.

Amjad Gujjar, a resident of Praim Gali of Naulakha, was brought to the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Imran Shafi for hearing on Jan 31.

As he came out of the court, the armed men opened fire killing him along with police constable Asif Iqbal, 38.

Islampura police had registered the case under murder and terrorism charges.
