Mardan nazim seeks funds for ongoing projects
MARDAN: The district government, Mardan, has urged the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government to include some important development schemes of the district in Annual Developmental Programme (ADP).
In this regard, district nazim Himayatullah Mayar told this correspondent on Saturday that the provincial government should include the projects suggested by his district government in the provincial ADP in the larger interest of the residents of Mardan.
“A discriminative approach by the responsible forums has been observed by the district government, Mardan, and even certain ongoing mega projects, started by the previous ANP-led provincial government, have been ignored in the release of estimated costs which caused inordinate delay in their completion,” he alleged.
He said that it would be appropriate to provide the remaining funds and complete the ongoing development projects in the district without delay.
About the projects suggested for inclusion in provincial ADP, he said that the provincial government should construct the second portion of Ring Road as land for the purpose had been earmarked. He said that technical and vocational centers should be established at the union council level.
The district nazim said that the provincial government should take steps for beautification of the city and installation of traffic lights at all major intersections of urban venues of Mardan district. He said that a sports complex for women having all facilities for indoor and outdoor games should be established.
Similarly, he asked the government for early release of funds and completion of remaining work on the district headquarter hospital, Benazir Children Hospital, Bacha Khan Medical College and rural health centres of Khazana Dheri, Garhi Daulat Zai, Bakhshali and Sawaldher so as to make all those health facilities functional.
The nazim also called for establishing neurosciences blocks in the Mardan Medical Complex and Bacha Khan Medical College and residential colonies for government employees in all tehsils.
