Disney has released a video of Frozen the Musical, and star Caissie Levy singing Elsa’s new power ballad “Monster.”
The clip for the Act 2 song shows Levy at a microphone, backed by male singers and an orchestra. The words reveal a heroine wondering if the world is better without her.
The stage adaptation of the animated blockbuster began previews on Broadway. The frosty fairytale previously played an out-of-town engagement in Denver.
The show features all of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez’s beloved songs from the movie, as well as a dozen new tracks. The producers of the musical have said they will release new songs from the show soon, leading up to its official opening.
Portraying the title character in Christopher Robin, Ewan McGregor is reunited with his childhood friend Winnie the Pooh in a trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action film.
The clip features McGregor, as Robin, far removed from the Hundred Acre Wood with a demanding job and a family. McGregor is down about missing a family vacation due to his job, however, Winnie the Pooh suddenly arrives to raise his spirit.
“I’ve cracked,” the actor says as he looks shocked to see Pooh Bear once again. “I don’t see any cracks, a few wrinkles maybe,” Pooh, voiced by long-time Winnie the Pooh actor Jim Cummings says. Christopher Robin, from director Marc Forster, is set to arrive in theatres on August 3.
Archie Comics has partnered with Graphic India (entertainment company) for the first-ever live action Bollywood film based on the characters from the comic series.
The Bollywood film will “re-imagine the classic characters like Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Moose and Jughead as Indians and will feature all the classic elements of the hugely popular comic book series,” the companies said.
Graphic India’s earlier projects include Stan Lee’s first Indian superhero, Chakra, which was given a multi-platform launch spanning comics and a television series in addition to a planned Bollywood film. The official release date and further details such as casting are still to be announced.
“We are supremely excited to partner with the great team at Graphic India to bring Archie and his friends to Bollywood,” said Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater. “Archie’s lasting and growing presence in India made this move the logical next step as our stellar library of characters continues to expand into other media.”
