Khursheed sees possibility of PPP-PTI poll alliance
SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that the possibility of an alliance or seat adjustment between Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in the next general election cannot be ruled out.
Talking to the media during his visit to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Hospital, Sukkur, on Sunday, Mr Shah said nothing was final in politics and it would be a good sign if PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PTI chief Imran Khan ‘embraced’ each other.
When asked that the PTI chief repeatedly called the PPP leader a ‘corrupt man’, he said it was a wrong perception, adding that Mr Zardari was “our leader”.
He claimed that Senator Sherry Rehman would become leader of the opposition in the upper house of parliament with majority, adding that the PPP was the only party that focused its attention towards the welfare of people.

The opposition leader claimed that when his party was in power it had increased the salaries of eight million employees of government and semi-government organisations. “Our party’s government had increased workers’ salaries from Rs8,000 to Rs15,000,” he said, adding that salaries would be further increased if the PPP came to power again. He said the main objective of politics was to serve humanity without any discrimination.
He said the Institute of Business Administration’s engineering university would soon be established in Sukkur.
Calling upon doctors to perform their duty honestly, he said he got 15 new dispensaries established in his constituency.
Mr Shah said the NICVD Hospital had been constructed keeping in view of the international standard and its one-month performance was quite better that would be further improved.
