Gujranwala police chief transferred

LAHORE: Gujranwala’s Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ali Aamir Malik has been transferred just 25 days after his posting here.

He has been placed at the disposal of the Punjab Safe Cities Authorities (PSCA) as managing director of the PSCA on a contract basis till Sept 6, 2019.

According to the Police Order and the Punjab government’s policy, the term of the regional police officer, the district police officer and the city police officer shall not be less than two years and not more than three years.

The Gujranwala police region is highly important among nine regions of Punjab for housing seven districts and large concentration of population.

Before the appointment of Ali Aamir as RPO here three weeks ago, the slot was being looked after on an acting basis by City Police Officer (CPO) Ashfaq Ahmad Khan.
