Governor presides over CPSP’s 52nd convocation

KARACHI: “With greater economic development in Pakistan, we would be needing more specialist doctors to serve people all over the country,” said Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair at the 52nd convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) here on Friday.

“I am the chancellor of all universities by virtue of being the governor of Sindh, but I have never come across a postgraduate institution of medical sciences, whose degrees and diplomas are recognised and so respected in the West,” he said while paying tribute to all the graduating fellows and members of the CPSP who have attained such high qualifications. He expressed his amazement over the number of medical postgraduates from overseas also appearing in CPSP examinations for specialisation degrees.

The convocation saw 330 fellows and 90 members being awarded with degrees. The governor awarded the Major General Iftikhar Malik Gold Medal in Histopathology to Dr Rabia Ali.
