Nadra asked to make online registration functional
KHAR: The residents of Bajaur Agency have demanded of the authorities to make functional the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS) at the National Database and Registration Authority’s swift registration centres in the region.
They said that Nadra introduced Civil Registration Management System at all of its swift registration centres several years ago. However, they said that the system had been non-functional for the past couple of months.
Raiz Khan, a resident of Khar, told this correspondent that absence of the facility at swift registration centres in the agency was causing problems to people in getting birth and death certificates of their family members.
He said that they had to visit the swift registration centres in Swat, Timergara and Peshawar for the purpose.
Some tribal people said that a new CRMS system was launched at the swift registration centre in Khar several months ago, however, it had been out of order for the last couple of months.
Javed Khan, a rights activist, said that launching of CRMS system at all swift registration centres was the longstanding demand of the local people as it was meant to provide birth and death certificates to them.
An official of Nadra in Khar admitted that almost all swift registration centres in the region had no online Civil Registration Management System (CRMS). However, he said that the system was functional in the swift registration centre in Nawagai.
