SHO among 30 booked for kidnap, torture of litigant

KASUR: Phoolnagar police on the Lahore High Court orders on Wednesday booked 30 people, including their own station house officer and administrative staff of a private mills for allegedly kidnapping a man who was in litigation with the unit’s management.

According to complainant Farha Bibi, the suspects in two vans kidnapped her husband Sardar Ali of village Kharak Singh when he was returning home after attending the hearing of his case against the mills in a trial court some weeks back.

The suspects took Ali to an undisclosed place where they subjected him to torture. Later, the victim was thrown on a road.

When the woman approached the local police station to file a complaint against the suspects, SHO Saqlain Shah allegedly threatened her with dire consequences and refused to enter the case.

On Wednesday, following the LHC orders, the police registered a case against SHO and 29 others, including mills administration.

BOOKED: Pattoki police booked 50 people allegedly involved in power theft on Wednesday, after conducting raids in Purani Mandi area and various villages, including Burg Mahalam.

A Lahore Electric Supply Company raiding team headed by Sub Divisional Officer Muhammad Tariq got registered the cases against the suspects without any arrest so far.

According to Lesco officials, the suspects were allegedly using direct power supply.

STOLEN: Two attendants of patients at Pattoki Tehsil Head Quarters Hospital were deprived of Rs74,000 on Wednesday.

Police said Niamat Ali of Badth Kalan village and Ghulam Rasool of Padhana village were attending their patients at the THQ hospital when pickpockets deprived them of their cash.

Pattoki city police have entered a case on the complaint of Niamat Ali and were looking into the matter.
