Pir Koh needs water

PIR Koh in Balochistan, popularly known as the Pir Koh gas field, is located 18 kilometres from Dera Bugti. The area has been suffering from an acute water shortage since 2008. The problem has assumed such epic proportions that now there is not even enough drinking water.

The people of Pir Koh have reminded their representatives in the assemblies and also in the Senate about their grievances. During the prime minister’s last visit to Dera Bugti, he had promised that Pir Koh would get water in two months, but his directives were not honoured. Last December, our MPA had announced a Rs300 million water scheme for the area but still there is no water.

This is a plea to the higher authorities to please take urgent action.
