Education must to achieve progress: Bizenjo

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said that without improving the education sector progress cannot be achieved.

“In the past, education could not flourish in the province because of numerous challenges...now Balochistan lags behind other provinces,” he said while talking to the managing director of the American Lycetuff pre-school system Zeeshan Zia Raja.

Ms Raja briefed the chief minister about her institution and discussed the state of education in Balochistan.

Mr Bizenjo claimed that in the past, the education sector had been grossly neglected, recalling that in the 1970s teachers from other provinces had been forcibly sent back.

“We faced another insurgency in 2002 that had a negative impact on the education and health sectors again,” he said. However, he added, the situation had improved and the provincial government was doing its best to promote education.
