HYDERABAD: Interim NFC award opposed

HYDERABAD, May 24: The chairman of the Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi, has said that his party and the people of Sindh will not accept any interim NFC award. In a statement issued here on Monday, he accused the rulers of Sindh of being surrogates of Punjab and the federal government.

He said provincial Finance Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed had failed to persuade the federal government to reconstitute the NFC award.

He said the rulers were not in a position to represent the cause of their people and for that reason they had no right to remain in power.

Mr Magsi said under a conspiracy, the Punjab and federal governments were trying to destroy Sindh’s economy.

He said the people of Sindh would not accept the sixth NFC award unless it was based on resources and income generation.

He said the Punjab and federal governments were mainly responsible for the inordinate delay in reconstitution of the sixth NFC award.
