‘Aliens’ sent 17 PMs packing: Marriyum
LAHORE: Defining the term ‘aliens’, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurenzeb said it refers to those who sent 17 prime ministers packing during the last 70 years in the country.
“Khalaai makhlooq (alien) is referred to those who sent 17 prime ministers home (without letting them complete their terms). The mandate of the people is not in the hands of aliens,” she told reporters here on Wednesday.
Nawaz Sharif had earlier said the PML-N’s competition in 2018 election would not be with the PPP or the PTI but the “aliens”.
The minister said the video clip of the attacker of Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal should not have been released. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority should take notice of it, she demanded.
She chided the National Accountability Bureau for accusing Nawaz Shrif of laundering $4.9 billion to India.
“It was a fake news and NAB is taking notice on it,” she said, adding NAB had failed to prove a single rupee corruption against Mr Sharif so far.
She said NAB should not have the license to shame politicians just three months before election.
She said the only crime of Nawaz Sharif was that he was a popular leader thrice elected by people as prime minister, adds APP.
