Pakistan’s last hope Bilal falls in Asian Snooker semis

KARACHI: Pakistan’s campaign at the 34th Asian Snooker Championship came to an end when Iran’s World No. 2 Amir Sarkhosh sent last survivor Moha­mmad Bilal packing 5-2 in the semi-final on Friday.

According to results made available here, Sarkhosh, who lost the IBSF world title to Indian Pankaj Advani losing 2-8 last year lived up to his billing by getting the better of Bilal 68-41, 66-19, 33-97, 75-46, 100-0, 0-91, 67-26.

The triumph helped Sarkhosh took a sweet revenge of his 4-5 defeat that he had suffered at the hands of Bilal in the Asian 6Reds snooker championship at Bishkek last year.

Bilal was awarded a bronze medal.
