Dealing with summer

TEMPERATURE in Karachi is expected to reach up to 43 degrees Centigrade in coming days. For Karachiites this is nothing new. A couple of years ago, they suffered an extraordinary heat wave that took the lives of hundreds of citizens.

There are warnings about yet more deadly heat waves in May June and July. To make matters worse are the perennial power outage and water shortage.

The holy month is also about to commence, so citizens should take precautions. Those fasting should avoid unnecessary movement in the sun and consume light food besides lots of fruits and water at Sehri and Iftar. I wish citizens make it safely through the summer.
