PTI's Yasmin moves ECP against ‘anomalies’ in NA-125

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s candidate Dr Yasmin Rashid, who had contested the 2013 general election against Nawaz Sharif, has filed a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan about irregularities in her [newly delimited] NA-125 constituency.

In her petition, she claimed that the population in 1200 block codes was surprisingly less than the number of voters. In her petition, she gave examples of 50 block codes explaining more voters than the population.

In 2013, Dr Rashid stated that the total number of voters in her constituency were 321,000 but the number of voters had increased to 464,000. She asked from where these 143,000 voters came in.

Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, Dr Rashid said she had pointed out irregularities in her constituency and now it was up to the judiciary and the election commission to take notice and set the things right.

She stated that she had also filed a petition with Returning Officer Asif Bashir against PML-N candidate Maryam Nawaz for continuation of development works in NA-125 despite the issuance of election schedule.
