Book review: 5 Minute Avengers Stories

So some of you kids don’t know who Avengers are, or, more importantly, what Avengers are and what they do?

Don’t worry. We have just the right Avengers guide for you that can make life easy for you. After all, you need to recognise The Incredible Hulk when he jumps in front of you to save you; or you need to know who Black Widow is and what she can do otherwise she will think of her as a super villain.

In this 5 Minute Avengers Stories, there are 12 short stories about the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that can be read by anybody who is over three years old.

It has not been developed in comic style, but in a narrative form where less text and more images do the trick.

The dozen stories show their human side as well as their superhuman side; how the Incredible Hulk deals with his critics; what would happen if Iron Man developed a Time Machine; who is the better Avenger — Black Widow or Hawkeye, and who are the new Avengers and which old one doesn’t consider them ready.

The text size is simple, the language is easy to understand and, above all, if you try, you can easily understand what’s going on.

Usually parents wonder about inappropriate images in comics but here there is no such thing; in fact, each story has a moral. There is one where the Vision befriends a young boy who lost his parents and by the time he joins them, his opinion of The Avengers has changed.

In another story, the Incredible Hulk saves his detractors from an accident and wins their heart. Iron Man also meets his match before he realises that one should never take the opposition lightly.

The best of these stories features Captain America who saves the world with his shield (and some modifications) otherwise we might not have existed to read the book!

These action-packed full-page and spot illustrations will surely send you to sleep before you can say “Avengers Assemble!”
