Ex-minister quits PML-N

LAHORE: Former provincial minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor has announced quitting the PML-N.

Mr Ghafoor was a minister in the PML-N-PPP government 2008-2013 in Punjab. Belonging to Raiwind he was considered close to the Sharif family. He was denied the party ticket in 2013 election.

According to a source, Mr Ghafoor said good bye to the PML-N after he was again denied a provincial assembly ticket for the July 25 election.

Mr Ghafoor told reporters on Wednesday that he decided to quit the party because of the Nawaz Sharif’s anti-institutions narrative.

“I stand by the institutions of my country. I will decide about my political future after Eid,” he said.
