Iftikhar Chaudhry returns as Imran Khan's chief tormentor, challenges PTI leader's election eligibility

Former CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry and PTI Chairman Imran Khan used to get along pretty well until the latter's infamously ill-advised use of the word sharamnak (shameful) for the former's judicial conduct did irreparable damage to the pair's relationship.

Since then the two have been sworn enemies (metaphorically speaking) and can often be seen trading barbs through the media.

It comes as no surprise then that Chaudhry's Justice and Democratic Party (DJP) has challenged Khan's eligibility for the upcoming general elections.

The JDP candidate's petition is titled “Imran versus Imran — the untold story”, which is pretty apt considering the petition has more the feel of an exposé than what it actually should be.

Anyway, the petition challenges Khan's eligibility on the grounds that his nomination papers make no mention of a daughter he had from his "relations with Ana-Luisa (Sita) White, a wealthy lady who was the daughter of the late Lord Gordon White".

The petition is pretty enlightening and could deprive the upcoming polls off arguably its most potent player. Give it a read.
