ANP promises new NFC award after coming to power
MARDAN: The Awami National Party provincial chief Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has vowed to get approved a new National Finance Commission Award from the central government if people voted his party into power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a function organised by ‘Friends of AWKUM’, here on Saturday.
The association comprises of faculty of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
He said that the education sector would be on the priority list of ANP, adding the PTI had not brought a visible change in the sector during its tenure.
“We will immediately start work on phase-II and phase-III of Abdul Wali Khan University which was halted by the PTI government. We will also review the university act with the purpose to give autonomy to the universities after coming into power,” he claimed.
He alleged that the PTI government did not provide required fundsto the university due to which it was going through financial crisis.
Mr Hoti claimed that his government had called a multiparty conference during its tenure and devised a hydro-action plan after making consultation with leaders of different political parties so as to overpower the energy crisis. Under that hydro-action plan, he said they had built five dams in various parts of the province.
He claimed that the PTI government had left the province under a huge burden of Rs360 billion loans which would adversely affect the province’s economy.
The ANP leader claimed that his party would get majority seats in the coming general elections.
