Nationalist veteran Dodo Mehri joins PPP
BADIN: Veteran nationalist leader and until now vice chairman of the Sindh United Party (SUP) Dr Dodo Mehri on Tuesday announced his decision to join Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He made the announcement during PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s visit to Badin.
He also announced withdrawal of his candidature as the SUP candidate from PS-62 Qasimabad (Hyderabad) in favour of his PPP rival Jam Khan Shoro.
Dr Mehri vowed to continue serving the people of Badin, Golarchi and other parts of the district better under the leadership of PPP.
“I am joining PPP with empty pockets and will remain loyal to PPP only to serve the people without seeking personal gains,” he added.
He also mentioned his decades-long struggle in nationalist politics but did not assign any reason leading to his decision to part ways with all his nationalist colleagues.
“I want to work with the PPP for the rest of my life,” he told a crowd of PPP activists and supporters.
The PPP chairman and other leaders welcomed Dr Dodo Mehri to the party fold.
