Chakwal police arrest 12 in four murders
CHAKWAL: The Chakwal police arrested 12 people suspected of involvement in four separate murder cases, according to a statement issued on Thursday from the office of District Police Officer Adil Memon.
The statement said that a habitual criminal had been arrested for shooting and killing his sister and injuring two others in the Haphi village on June 24.
When arrested, the suspect also confessed to killing his uncle, Mohammad Asif, on May 23, 2017. The suspect allegedly shot and killed the victim over a domestic dispute, burned the body and then disposed of it in a deserted well.
The police also arrested four brothers who allegedly killed their mother on May 17 near Odherwal for ‘honour’.
Another suspect was arrested for allegedly killing his sister and his sister-in-law for ‘honour’ in the Chatal village on June 4.
Police also arrested six people for their alleged involvement in the murder of Mohammad Azam on June 5 in the Dhoke Parwana village over a land dispute, and recovered weapons from their possession.
