Man kills brother over power bill row

LAHORE: A man allegedly killed his elder brother over an electricity bill dispute here on Monday in Baghbanpura.

Initial police reports suggested that Imran and his elder brother Ali Raza of Shadipur exchanged hot words over the payment issue when they came to know that the Lesco local office had generated ‘inflated’ bill for the previous month.

Imran refused to pay the amount over some reasons which led to a brawl between them, the police said adding that Imran attacked Ali Raza with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him critically injured.

He was shifted to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead due to deep head injuries.

The police have shifted the body to the city morgue for autopsy and lodged a case against the suspect.

ACCIDENT: Two young motorcyclists were killed after a bus hit their two-wheeler here on Monday on Multan Road.

Initial police reports suggested that Sajid and his friend Sarwar were on their way to market by a motorbike when they met with an accident.

The police said they succumbed to their head injuries on the spot.

The bus driver fled the scene leaving his vehicle on the road, the police said adding the bodies were handed over to families after postmortem.
