TLP workers injured in clash with party nominee
KASUR: Three workers of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) suffered injuries on Saturday after an argument with their party’s candidate for NA-137 near Kamal Chisti Mor.
The scuffle erupted after candidate Mufti Farooqul Hassan and his workers argued over the choice of song for their campaign.
Hassan and the workers were standing at Kamal Chishti Mor to welcome TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who was on his way here after attending a public meeting in Khudian Town.
According to complainant Khurram Shahzad, Hassan and others, including Zahid Attari, Qari Abdul Ghaffar and Afzal Ali, started beating him up and other workers, including Riaz and Shahzad, when they refused to play the campaign song.
Police were looking into the matter.
BOOKED: Mustafabad police registered a case against five villagers for assaulting PML-N workers at Sattoki village over putting up of flexes of the party candidates for NA-138.
Suspects Nabeel, Salman, Irfan, Zeeshan and an unidentified one had an argument with PML-N workers, including Umar, Waheed, Salman, Manzoor and Asad Iqbal.
The suspects were trying to prevent the workers from fixing the flexes, which led to a clash. Nabeel alias Babloo opened fire, leaving Saleem injured. He was rushed to DHQ hospital, while the suspects managed to escape.
