Peshawar High Court suspends five judicial officers

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Saturday suspended for three months the services of five judicial officers, including two additional district and sessions judges and three civil judges, charging them with misconduct.

According to a press release issued here, the suspended judges include: an additional district and sessions judge, Naeem Iqbal, who was posted at Charsadda; another ADSJ Aurangzeb Khan posted at Abbottabad; civil judge Johar Ijaz Ali Shah posted at Drosh (Chitral); civil judge Shakeelur Rehman, posted at Abbottabad; and, a civil judge, Ms Saima Irfan, who was posted at Swabi.

It was stated that proceedings under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2011 for misconduct will also be initiated against the suspended judges.

No specific charges were mentioned against the suspended judges in the press release.
