SUKKUR: Four bandits killed in encounter

SUKKUR, June 6: A most wanted and hardened bandit Ali Gul Junejo was killed along with his four accomplices allegedly in an encounter with Rangers and police in Fakir Goth near Madeji town, Shikarpur district, on Monday morning. A heavy contingent of Rangers and police led by Col Tariq of the Pakistan Rangers and DPO Fareed Jan Sarhandi conducted a raid upon receiving a tip-off about the bandits’ presence in the village.

After seeing the raiding team the bandits opened fire and an encounter took place between the bandits and police.

As a result, Ali Gul Junejo, Riaz Ali, Ghulam Nabi alias Gullo, Niaz Ali and Bux Ali were killed.

Police claimed to have recovered a rocket launcher, six rockets, two G-3 rifles, five Kalashnikov rifles and a sizable quantity of bullets from them.

Talking to newsmen, DPO Fareed Jan Sarhandi said Ali Gul Junejo was wanted by police in more than 100 cases of heinous crimes including murder, kidnapping and robbery.
