Modern makeovers for Disney princesses

Previously, it was revealed that the Disney princesses would appear in Wreck-It Ralph 2, and the Ralph Breaks the Internet trailer showcased some of the classic characters. Now, fans of the Disney princesses get to see the ladies in a very different way: wearing modern outfits.

In a new photo from Ralph Breaks the Internet, the cast of Disney princesses are lounging around with Vanellope and dressed in more modern clothing — a strange sight for the typically gown-clad lot. The photo depicts The Little Mermaid’s Ariel, Pocahontas, Cinderella, Frozen’s Anna and Elsa, Snow White, Tangled’s Rapunzel, Moana, The Princess and The Frog’s Tiana, and Mulan.

Since characters were created at a time when the discussion of feminism and female empowerment was much different, the Wreck-It Ralph sequel gives them a chance to take a modern re-evaluation.

Oscars to recognise ‘Popular’ movies now

The people behind the Academy Awards recently announced that they will also be presenting some awards during commercial breaks, beginning next year.

They will be adding a category to the programme that recognises an “outstanding achievement in popular film.” It did not elaborate on how it would distinguish a popular film, telling voters that “eligibility requirements and other key details will be forthcoming.”

The ceremony, as seen on TV, will run a mere three hours when it airs on February 24th, 2019. To trim the running time, presenters will hand out a portion of its 24 statuettes during commercial breaks. The wins will be filmed and edited and broadcast later in the show. This year’s broadcast ran nearly four hours and its viewership was down by almost 20 percent.

The Flash movie to start production in 2019

News report indicates that the Scarlet Speedster’s first starring film on the silver screen will begin production in February 2019.

It seems Atlanta — home of several big-name Marvel movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: Homecoming — will serve as the home for the production of The Flash.

The Flash will reportedly no longer touch the beloved Geoff Johns/Andy Kubert comic. The film will star Justice League’s Ezra Miller as speedster Barry Allen/The Flash, along with Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, with Billy Crudup reprising his role as Barry’s father, Henry Allen. It will reportedly strike theatres in 2020.
