PkMAP joins Swabi Democratic Alliance

SWABI: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has joined the Swabi Democratic Alliance (SDA) to give tough time to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in the Oct 14 by-election in PK-44, Swabi-II.

The party made the decision at a meeting of the alliance held here.

PkMAP district president Mohammad Arshad represented the party in the meeting.

Mr Arshad assured the SDA leaders that his party would extend complete support to them in winning the by-polls and further strengthening the alliance.

Sources said the SDA had also invited Awami Workers Party, Jamiat Ulerma-i-Islam-Nazriyati and Ahle Hadis to the meeting, but their leaders did not turn up.

SPEAKER: PTI district leaders and workers have made preparations to warmly welcome the newly-elected Speaker of National Assembly, Asad Qaisar and bring him to his native village in a big procession on Sunday (today) evening, said the party leaders.

Anwar Haqdad, PTI district president, told Dawn that it would be the first arrival of Mr Qaisar to his native Marghuz village after assuming power as the NA Speaker.

He said Mr Qaisar would address a public meeting at Marghuz Adda at night.

HELP: Ijaz Bacha, father of Manzoor Iqbal, who got injured in an attack in Malaysia and in hospital in that country, has appealed to NA Speaker Asad Qaisar to provide financial assistance for his son’s treatment.

Manzoor was attacked by Burmese militants in Malaysia and his left hand was chopped, according to the father.

He said his son’s treatment would cost Rs1.5 million which he could not afford.

He told mediapersons that without financial assistance of the government it would be difficult for them to arrange money for Manzoor’s operation.
