Inter pre-medical results announced

KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) announced the results of pre-medical part-II and the medical technology groups, Higher Secondary School examinations, 2018.

Announcing the results, BIEK chairman Professor Inam Ahmed said that it was not just that the top three positions were bagged by girls, there was only one boy in the top six position holders in the pre-medical exams.

BIEK controller of exams Azeem Ahmed then called out the names of the position holders.

Hasna Adil of Begum Amina Majeed Malik (BAMM) PECHS Government College for Women was first with Grade A-1 and 993 marks out of 1,100 marks.

Both Zehra Anas, who also hails from the same college, and Khadija Ashraf of Usman Public School Campus-1 were second with 988 marks.

Amna Saeed of Bahria College, M.T. Khan Road, was third with 987 marks.

According to the controller of exams, some 23,355 candidates registered to sit for the Pre-Medical exams out of whom 22,930 actually appeared.

A total of 12,362 students passed in the exams bringing the passing percentage to 53.91.

Some 1,415 students passed with the Grade A-grade and 3,191 got the Grade A.

Meanwhile, 3,378 got the Grade B, 3,037 got C, 1,287 got D and 54 got Grade E.

In medical technology, out of the nine students who sat for the exams only five passed bringing up a passing percentage of 55.56.

One candidate got the Grade A and two each got Grade B and Grade C.
