Meheq, Sarah in ladies tennis semis
ISLAMABAD- Seeded player Meheq Khokhar avoided a scare after losing the first four games of her quarter-final match against Esha Jawad during the Subh-e-Nau National Ladies Tennis Tournament here at the PSB Tennis Courts Islamabad on Tuesday.
However, Meheq made a resounding comeback to win the first set 7-6(2) and then, in the second game, after facing good resistance again, she won the set and game 6-4.
Meheq will play against Sarah Mahboob in the semi-final with the latter winning her lopsided quarter-final against Shimza Naz.
Sara Mansoor brushed aside Oreen Jasia in her quarter-final match without losing a single game. She will face Mahvish Chishtie in the semi-final, who beat Mahnoor Sohail.
In the doubles category, Sarah and Meheq made their way to the final after a straight sets victory over Shahida Kausar and Mahnoor Sohail. They will contest Sara and Mahvish for the title on Wednesday.
In the girls U-10 quarter-finals, Mahnoor Farooqui won her match against Afifa Siddiqui while Eshal beat Sophia in a closely contested match.
