Girls outshine boys in Hyderabad BISE inter exam

HYDERABAD: Girls bagged all three top positions in pre-engineering and pre-medical groups of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination (part-II) and two of three top places in science general group, according to result announced by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad on Saturday.

In pre-engineering group, Areesha Iqbal of Hayat Girls College secured first position with 935 marks, Kiran Anwar of County Girls College clinched second with 925 marks and Romana Latif of Superior College of science made it to the third with 924 marks, said a press release.

A total of 18,873 candidates appeared in exams for pre-engineering group in 10 districts falling under BISE Hyderabad out of which 15,810 were declared successful.

In the pre-medical group, Maryam of College of Excellence for Girls stood first with 937 marks, Umme Farwa of Government Girls Degree College Sehwan secured second position with 934 marks and Hira Rani of Federal Government Degree College Hyderabad obtained third position with 933 marks.

A total of 30,131 candidates appeared in examinations out of which 24,363 students girls passed. Overall pass percentage remained 80.86pc.

In the science general group, Fatima Shafique of College of Excellence for Girls secured first with 892 marks, Hafsa Noman of Hayat Girls College stood second with 889 marks and Mohammad Mubashir Farooq of Cadet College Petaro made it to the third with 860 marks.

Girls, boys share top positions in Mirpurkhas BISE inter exams

MIRPURKHAS: Girls and boys almost evenly shared between them top three positions in the three groups in annual intermediate examination held under the BISE Mirpurkhas, according to an announcement on Sunday.

In the pre-engineering group, Zourain Jameel Mirza of Government Shah Abdul Latif Science College, Mirpurkhas, obtained first position, Zoha Akram of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute, Mirpurkhas, secured second and Raja Jetindar Kumar of Kainat Public School, Umerkot, stood third.

In the pre-medical group, Noorul Ain of Government Ibne Rushd Girls College, Mirpurkhas, secured first position, Zouya Khan of the same college obtained second position and Maryam Zafar of A.J Science College, Mirpurkhas, and Syed Mohammad Haroon Shah of Sindh Public Higher Secondary School, Umerkot, shared third position.

A total of 22,612 candidates of four districts falling under BISE Mirpurkhas appeared in intermediate exam.
