‘Land grabber’ Mansha alias Bomb goes underground

LAHORE: Alleged land grabber Mansha Bomb, wanted by police in more than 80 criminal cases lodged against him with various police stations of the city, and his sons have gone underground.

“As the Supreme Court took up the case, Mansha along with all his family members disappeared as the police found his residences locked,” Saddar Division SP (Operations) Muaz Zafar told Dawn on Monday.

He had switched off his mobile phones and discarded subscriber identity module (SIM) cards in his use to escape arrest.

“We have formed six police teams from various police stations for his arrest,” Mr Muaz said.

Of the 80 cases against Mansha, five were registered against him under anti-terrorism charges, he said and added that the first land grabbing case was registered against him in 1982 with the Naulakha Police Station.

A resident of Township, 60-year-old Mansha Bomb owns more than 12 residences besides several commercial markets he allegedly grabbed illegally, the SP said.

“The biggest land grabber of the town, Mansha has earned bad repute in the underworld by creating a ‘criminal nexus’ with the policemen at the police station level.”

The SP said a majority of the cases were registered against him for attacking the police and officials of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
