Concern over burglary incidents in Swabi
SWABI: Local leaders of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl on Wednesday expressed their concern over burglary incidents in parts of Topi city.
JUI-F’s Topi tehsil chief Maulana Roshan Zeb and other party activists said that it was responsibility of the government to provide security to the people. They said that thieves had forced their way into several houses in the city and created insecurity among the people.
One of the affected residents told this correspondent that he woke up in the night and found some suspicious people in their house.He said that he immediately informed his brothers in the nearby rooms on phone.
He said that when the thieves felt that they had awakened they fled from the area.
Answering a question, he said that they felt from the foot sounds that it was a group of thieves. Topi DSP Kausar Khan said that he was told about the incident by policemen, but no one came forward for registering an FIR in this regard.
However, he said that they had increased patrolling in all areas during night to prevent such incidents.
KILLED: Unknown assailants killed a man identified as Aamir Khan in Swabi city on Wednesday.
Sources said that Aamir was going on foot on Swabi-Mardan road when two people on motorcycle appeared and opened fire on him.
As a result, he died on the spot. When contacted, area police said that they had just received information about the incident.
